Sequoia: Results in 2025

Hi everyone!

This is already the third time I’m writing a year-end recap for Sequoia - and honestly, it feels great. There’s a lot to share, a lot to reflect on, and most importantly, a strong desire to keep building and moving forward.

If 2024 was the year of travel and conferences, then 2025 was clearly the year of analysis and the start of real growth.

Self-analysis

We spent a considerable amount of time developing new features. We launched big things: online consultations, regular checkups, a health tracking mode, AI, and more. Each time, we hoped we had finally found our “killer feature” - the one that would make the app viral. But it didn’t.

At some point, we realized this approach wasn’t working. So we stepped back and looked at Sequoia through numbers. And what we saw was painful: out of 1000 users who installed the app, only about 150 reached the main screen. That’s extremely low.

Technically and medically, everything looked fine. But users were dropping off. So we changed our perspective and looked at it from a human side.

When a man faces sexual health issues, he’s often vulnerable. He doesn’t need cold medical language - he needs support.
That’s when we changed our communication tone: from dry and clinical to warm and supportive.

  • We added a screen saying “Created by doctors. Backed by science” with real photos of the specialists behind the product.

  • On sensitive screens where we ask for personal data, we added a clear message: “All your data is stored securely and no one will ever gain access to it.”

  • On test screens, we added: “There are no wrong answers. This helps us personalize your plan.”

  • And on the results screen: “Don’t worry. You’re not alone. Most men experience similar issues at some point in life.”

And it worked.

The number of users reaching the main screen increased 2.5× - and paid conversions grew with it.

And the best part is that this wasn’t a one-time spike - it’s real growth that’s been holding strong for the past four months!

Yes, someone could say we should have analyzed metrics earlier. And they’d be right. But we got there when we got there - and that’s what matters.

By the way, this data became the basis of our research, which we submitted to the World Meeting for Sexual Medicine (WMSM). If selected, I’ll present it to the global sexology community next February in Porto, Portugal.

What’s next?

We’re now redesigning the entire app using the same logic. With each release, we ship another part of the updated experience.
Our big goal for 2026 is to raise 30-day retention to 10%. To do that, users need a real reason to come back. We have several ideas - but more on that later.

One thing is clear: when a team sees real growth in metrics, motivation goes through the roof.
