Telegram bot tracking subscriptions

Has it ever happened to you that you subscribed to a trial and then immediately went to settings to cancel it, just to avoid being charged when the trial ends?

At Sequoia, we frequently encounter this kind of user behavior. Our CTO even wrote a Telegram bot that monitors such actions. (see picture above)

Why does this happen? This question doesn’t have an easy answer. Some people aren’t used to paying for digital products.

Paying for goods in a shop is okay. Most people wouldn’t even think of not paying. But an app subscription? It feels unusual, unnatural, even unnecessary. Why pay if you don’t have to? I can watch or listen to an ad, and I’m fine with it.

Frankly, I personally used to think the same way, but when I started my own business, Sequoia, I completely changed my perspective and began to appreciate the value of other people’s work.

What about you? Do you pay for apps? If so, which ones?
