About Subscriptions. Part 3

You can read the first two parts of my thoughts on subscriptions here and here.

Since Sequoia was first launched, it has been free of charge for several countries. Recently, we decided to introduce a subscription fee for these countries but offer it at a price — $59,99 per year.

There are several reasons why we made this decision:

  • The first is financial. We need funds for further app development. It’s better to have 100 paying users than 10,000 non-paying ones.

  • The second is psychological. Free products are often not perceived as high-quality. I believe that having 10+ doctors on board, a partnership with the United Nations Population Fund, and membership in International and European Associations for Sexual Medicine are proof of our commitment to the topic.

  • The third is motivational. If an individual pays for something, they gain motivation. Or, at the very least, they feel reassured, knowing they are doing something to achieve their goal. This applies to language learning, going to the gym, and more.
$59,99 per year — that’s $4,99 per month. This is approximately the cost of a cup of coffee.

You might ask: What will I get for my $4,99?

In addition to basic free functionality you’ll get:

  • The ability to adjust exercise difficulty and unlock new levels

  • The option to complete missed exercises

  • Health reports and graphs

  • Access to all app content (140+ articles on various aspects of men’s health and sexuality)

  • Daily personalized insights based on your current health condition

  • The ability to store test results and receive notifications about upcoming tests

  • The option to add custom health checks to the existing list

Here’s a tricky question: Does caring for your health cost just $4,99 per month?
